Clean Language
The Harley Therapy Institute advocates training in "clean language" or the phenomenological approach, which allows the therapist to understand the client's inner world by listening to the client's own words and body language. This helps to retain the integrity of the client's experience and prevents the therapist from polluting that experience with his/her own assumptions.
This type of questioning / listening technique helps bring the client to his/her own conclusions, meaning that they will be convinced by the outcome and will own it.
